Cole Winn, the Rangers’ top pick in the 2019 draft, has had an up-and-down season for Hickory this year. His outing on Friday night, however, was the high point of his pro career thus far. Winn went 5 shutout innings, walking 1, allowing a hit and striking out 7. Winn has struggled a fair amount this year, but we can hope this is the beginning of a strong finish to the year.

For Down East, Sam Huff had a single and three walks, and Sherten Apostel had a single, a homer and a walk.

Frisco had Jonathan Hernandez pitch in a relief role again, and he logged 3 IP, 0 runs, 1 walk and 5 Ks. Demarcus Evans threw a scoreless 9th, striking out 2 and walking 1.

For Nashville, Nick Solak had a hit, and Ronald Guzman had a home run.
