Texas Rangers infielder (and tonight’s starting third baseman) Danny Santana left tonight’s game with left hamstring tightness. He was replaced by Isiah Kiner-Falefa.

The Rangers had called up Scott Heineman earlier today, giving them a four man bench, but with the loss of Santana and Nomar Mazara, who left earlier tonight with left oblique soreness, the Rangers appear to be short handed again.

The only position players on the 40 man roster who are in the minors right now are Zack Granite and Ronald Guzman, and I’m not sure either is a likely candidate to be called up if Mazara and/or Santana go on the injured list prior to tomorrow’s doubleheader. Nick Solak and Eli White are not on the 40 man roster, but each are Rule 5 eligible after the season, and thus will need to be added. Solak is a quality righthanded bat, but is limited to 2B and the COF spots defensively. White can play most of the infield and outfield positions, offering more defensive versatility, but hasn’t hit much this year.

All four players are still playing in Nashville’s game as I type this.

UPDATE — Nick Solak has been removed from Nashville’s game. It appears he’s going to be in Arlington tomorrow.
