Nick Solak, the second baseman/outfielder currently with the AAA Nashville Sounds, has been lifted from tonight’s game in the sixth inning. Given that both Nomar Mazara and Danny Santana were removed from tonight’s Texas Rangers game with injuries, this would seem to be an indication that Solak is likely being called up for tomorrow’s doubleheader.

Solak was acquired by the Rangers from the Tampa Bay Rays in July, 2019, in exchange for reliever Peter Fairbanks. Solak is a righthanded hitter who is said to have a quality bat and off-the-charts makeup, but who doesn’t have a clear defensive position. Solak has played primarily second base in the minors, but has also played some left field and right field. If Solak does come up, he would seem to be likely to get the bulk of his playing time in the outfield.

Solak had a .357/.390/.670 slash line for Nashville in 124 plate appearances since the trade.
