Frisco righthander Tyler Phillips got the ball for the Roughriders today after rehabbing Edinson Volquez worked a perfect first. Phillips was terrific, allowing 4 hits, 1 walk and 1 HBP in six scoreless innings, striking out 3 and lowering his AA ERA to 5.11. Lucas Farrell struck out 4 in 2 rehab IP. Leody Taveras homered.
Sherten Apostel had a pair of home runs for Down East. He now has an 847 OPS. He’s 20.
Hans Crouse was on the mound for Hickory, and had some bad luck with some defense behind him. He gave up 6 runs (4 earned) in 5.2 IP, allowing 4 hits and 3 walks, striking out 4. Hever Bueno struck out 3 in 2 innings of work. Miguel Aparicio and Josh Jung each had 3 hits, and Jonathan Ornelas and Tyreque Reed each had 2 hits.
