Diminutive right handed pitcher Ronny Henriquez has had mixed results in the Sally League this year — understandable, given Henriquez was 18 when the season started. He had one of his best starts of the year tonight, however, giving up just 1 run in 6 IP, allowing just 2 hits and 2 walks while striking out 7. Kelvin Gonzalez struck out 2 in a scoreless inning, lowering his ERA to 2.03. Matt Whatley had a triple and a single, and Josh Jung, Jonathan Ornelas and Frainyer Chavez each had hits.

J.P. Martinez had a huge night for Down East, picking up two singles, a double and a homer. Curtis Terry had a pair of hits and a walk, Sam Huff had a hit and a walk, Yohel Pozo had a pair of hits, and Bubba Thompson had a double.

Rehabbing pitcher Jeffrey Springs had a scoreless inning for Nashville with a K.

For Frisco, Leody Taveras had a single and a triple, and Charles Leblanc matched J.P. Martinez by singling twice, doubling and homering.

The AZL Rangers won game one of the AZL Championship. Manuel Santiago threw 6 scoreless innings. Damian Mendoza had 3 scoreless innings. Heriberto Hernandez had a homer and a walk.
