Hans Crouse with a quality start

Hickory’s Hans Crouse struck out 6 in 6 innings

Hans Crouse started for Hickory, and continued to pitch effectively while dealing with bone spurs in his elbow that will require post-season surgery. Crouse had a quality start tonight, going 6 innings, allowing 5 hits (including 2 home runs), striking out 6 while not walking anyone. Offensively, Josh Jung, Pedro Gonzalez and Jonathan Ornelas each singled, Frainyer Chavez had a single and a double, and Tyreque Reed had a single and a home run.

Down East won tonight won on a walkoff three run home run by Curtis Terry, who also had a single and a double. Sam Huff had a single and a home run, and J.P. Martinez had a pair of singles and a pair of stolen bases.

For Frisco, rehabbing Luke Farrell struck out 3 in an inning of work, but allowed a hit and 2 runs, hit a batter, and threw two wild pitches. Rehabbing Yohander Mendez gave up a hit and a walk in two innings of work with 2 Ks, and according to Kevin, was touching 97. Demarcus Evans threw a scoreless 9th, fanning 2. Leody Taveras had a pair of hits, and Brendon Davis had two hits and two walks.

Ricky Vanasco pitched a perfect inning in the NWL/PIO All Star Game, striking out 2. David Garcia had a single.
