Texas Rangers outfielder Joey Gallo is still having pain in his hand and is not expected to be activated this weekend, per the beat guys. Gallo has returned to the Metroplex from Arizona, where he has been working out, and is going to be re-evaluated, but it sounds more and more likely he will be shut down for the season.

Gallo’s 2019 campaign has been the best of his career, but he missed time due to an oblique injury, and has been on the injured list since late July due to a broken hamate bone that required surgery. The hope had been that Gallo would be able to be activated this weekend after getting at bats in Surprise, but he is reportedly dealing with increased pain.

I think we all had been hoping to see a few more Joey Gallo at bats this year, but it is sounding more likely that his season may be over.
