Texas Rangers outfielder Willie Calhoun was hit in the arm by a pitch in the first inning of tonight’s game. While Calhoun stayed in the game initially, getting thrown out at home when trying to score on a Rougned Odor double, he was lifted for pinch hitter Nick Solak in the third.
The initial reports are that Calhoun has a “left forearm bone contusion,” but X-rays were negative. My guess is that he will miss a game or two but be back in the lineup at some point before the season ends. Which is on Sunday, which isn’t far off.
