The Surprise Saguaros game yesterday had four Texas Rangers prospects in the starting lineup and another come into the game in relief, and the Ranger contingent acquitted themselves well in the 6-2 win against Peoria.

The highlight for the Rangers group was Bubba Thompson’s 2 run home run in the second inning, which gave Surprise a 3-0 lead. Bubba also had a single in 4 at bats. Jax Biggers played second base and went 2 for 3 with an HBP and 2 steals, while Matt Whatley caught for Surprise and drew a walk in four plate appearances.

Noah Bremer started for Surprise and went 3 shutout innings, striking out 3 against 4 walks. Josh Advocate pitched the final inning, retiring all three batters he faced and striking out one. Advocate has allowed 0 runs, 1 hit and 2 walks in 3 innings of AFL work thusfar.
