The Surprise Saguaros played yesterday after yesterday’s Arizona Fall League action was rained out, and no position players for the Rangers played for Surprise.
Righthanded relief pitcher Cole Uvila did appear for the Saguaros yesterday, however, and allowed one hit and one walk while striking out one in a scoreless inning of work. He has yet to be scored upon in 3 AFL outings.
It was mentioned in one of the articles yesterday that Joe Palumbo, who made his final major league appearance, would get some innings in the AFL. The Rangers have shuffled guys in and out of the AFL in past years, so it wouldn’t be surprising to see someone pulled off the Saguaro roster and Palumbo be activated. Palumbo was limited because of some minor physical issues this year, and Texas seems to want to increase his innings load in anticipation of him possibly being asked to make 30 major league starts in 2020.
