MLB: Houston Astros at Texas Rangers Kevin Jairaj-USA TODAY Sports

Ray Davis had a conference call with the beat writers yesterday, and answered Kevin Sherrington’s question posed in yesterday’s links (why didn’t the team commit to rebuilding 3 years ago) with “because we wanted to try to contend in the year the new stadium opened.”

Davis also said that Jon Daniels isn’t going anywhere and that payroll will be going down in 2021.

If you want to attend the World Series or NLCS, MLB will be making 11,500 tickets available.

Ray Davis also is hoping to bring back most of the team’s furloughed players on January 1, though that’s still a question mark.
