Maybe next year, Wash

MLB: NLCS-Atlanta Braves at Los Angeles Dodgers Tim Heitman-USA TODAY Sports

Good morning.

Ron Washington was a part of an era of Oakland Athletics teams so infamous for being the little team that ultimately couldn’t that they made a movie about them. He was the manager of the 2011 Texas Rangers that did the thing that we don’t talk about. And now, he is the third base coach of an Atlanta Braves team that squandered a 3-1 lead in the LCS.

Levi Weaver wrote that Wash was hopeful for that one last win in Arlington but it did not come. It’s easy to root for Ron Washington but, if you do, just know that sports sadness is a part of the deal.

And, T.R. Sullivan’s inbox covers popular topics like dumping Rougned Odor, drafting Jack Leiter, and signing Yasiel Puig.

So we’re left with the Andrew Friedman World Series. Maybe the Dodgers will finally win one of these things and go away or maybe Jason Cole and Jeff Sullivan will get a World Series ring.

Be well!
