MLB Owners Meetings, Winter Meetings to be remote

MLB has announced that the owners meetings, scheduled for November, and the Winter Meetings, scheduled for December, will not take place in person. Instead, any necessary events scheduled to take place then, such as the Rule 5 Draft (which occurs on the last day of the Winter Meetings), will take place remotely.

This is due, of course, to the COVID-19 pandemic. With cases rising again in the United States, bringing lots of people together to hang out and mingle in close quarters indoors for several days is not a great idea, so this decision is not unexpected.
