Tuesday Morning Texas Rangers Update

Smell ya later, 2020

Good morning. This is the last morning update for me in the year 2020. It’s been an unpleasant year to a historic degree by almost every measure possible but at least there’s nowhere to go but up, right!? Here’s to a better 2021.

On his last day on the job, T.R. Sullivan noted that the Texas Rangers signed former Atlanta Braves utility player Charlie Culberson to a minor league deal with an invite to spring training.

Evan Grant writes that the Rangers bolstered their bench depth by bringing in Culberson and the team also signed five others to minor league deals on Monday, including Internet favorite Tim Dillard.

Will Leitch remembers quite a few ballplayers that we lost in 2020, including our own Charley Pride.

Grant memorializes one of those MLB greats who passed away — Phil Niekro. The Hall of Fame knuckleballer maintains a lasting legacy, including being EG’s childhood favorite.

And, as a farewell, Sullivan named the best Rangers player for each jersey number in team history.

Be well!
