MLB Rumors: The Mookie Betts trade involving the Boston Red Sox, Los Angeles Dodgers and Minnesota Twins is being delayed due to issues arising over the medicals of Twins pitching prospect Brusdar Graterol, according to Jeff Passan.

Graterol would be going from the Twins to the Red Sox in this deal, with the Dodgers senting Kenta Maeda to Minnesota to satisfy that portion of the trade. The Dodgers would also send outfielder Alex Verdugo to the Red Sox, receiving Betts, David Price and cash from Boston. Passan says the Red Sox were “spooked” by a review of the medicals for Graterol, though it sounds like the deal is still expected to happen, just potentially with some tweaks.

Also in limbo while the Betts/Price deal gets completed is a reported deal that would have the Dodgers sending Joc Pederson to the Los Angeles Angels. Moving Pederson, who is in his final year of arbitration before becoming a free agent, would allow the Dodgers to stay under the luxury tax line for 2020. In that deal, the Dodgers are reportedly sending Pederson, Ross Stripling and minor league Andy Pages to the Angels for infielder Luis Rengifo and either one or two prospects.
