The NBA has announced it is suspending play indefinitely due to the Coronavirus/COVID-19 pandemic. This move was made after Utah Jazz center Rudy Gobert was determined to have tested presumptively positive right before the Jazz were scheduled to tip off this evening. This evening’s slate of games will be the final ones played until further notice.

The NBA says they will use this hiatus to determine how best to proceed going forward in light of the pandemic.

This move will, I suspect, trigger a similar decision from the NHL. MLB play doesn’t start for two more weeks, but I’m guessing those games will also be suspended.
