The Chris Stapleton concert at Globe Life Field, scheduled to take place on Saturday, March 14, 2020, has been postponed, per Evan Grant on Twitter. That concert was to be the first official event at the new stadium of the Texas Rangers.
The first Rangers game that is scheduled for Globe Life Field is on March 23, and there’s no word at this point about that game, but at this point I think its just a question of when they announce that that game is cancelled, as well as the first homestand of the season for the Rangers, which starts on March 31.
The MLS has announced that it is suspending play effective immediately, and it is anticipated the NHL will be making a similar announcement today. While MLB has yet to cancel any exhibition or regular season games — or even limit the attendance at currently scheduled exhibition games — I’d anticipate that MLB will announce that either fans will not be allowed in the stadiums for exhibition games, or the exhibition season is being suspended, within the next 24 hours.
