MLB has announced that due to Coronavirus concerns, the start of the season is being delayed for two weeks. That said, I don’t know that any of us thought that a mid-April start date for the season was realistic.

According to Jared Diamond (and Jeff Passan), the best case scenario from those in MLB is an early-May start, “[a]nd even that is probably too soon.”

There continues to be a lot of unknowns about the situation, but can’t imagine there will be baseball played in April, and I think June is probably what we should hope for in regards to games being played. We are likely looking at losing 2-3 months of the 2020 season, and its just a question of when MLB says games beyond the first two weeks are being suspended.
