Sunday morning Rangers news, rumors and links

MLB: Detroit Tigers at Texas Rangers Jerome Miron-USA TODAY Sports

Good morning, folks...

The Texas Rangers players voted unanimously to return to the Metroplex and stay there together, working out and staying sharp.

Jon Daniels says that he wants each player to do what is right for them, but Joey Gallo says it was unanimous they wanted to stay together, while understanding individuals may have to leave at certain times (Mike Minor, for example, is expecting his wife to give birth soon).

The players want to have as much “normalcy” as possible by staying together and working out, during a time where there is very little normal going on in the world.

Finally, you’ve no doubt heard all this talk about “social distancing” and “flattening the curve.” You may have seen that, despite all this urging, lots of people are apparently ignoring these pleas, and are going to bars, restaurants, and other places with lots of people.

Some of the justification seems to be, I’m young and healthy and not showing symptoms. Which is all well and good, but you can still spread the Coronavirus if you are young and healthy and not showing symptoms — you can have it, not know it, and end up spreading it much more widely as a result.

So, please, limit your outings. Don’t go places with lots of people. Sit your ass at home. The sooner people realize this and follow that advice, the sooner things will get back to normal.
