The Rangers of 2019 were a surprise during the first half of the season — they were in a playoff spot in the American League as late as mid-June — but eventually, once Joey Gallo’s MVP-quality season was lost to injuries, the talent level in Texas couldn’t keep the wins coming.

Going into the season finale, the Rangers were already doomed to a third-straight losing season so the focus shifted to closing out our beloved Ballpark with a victory against the hated New York Yankees. Cy Young contender Lance Lynn was given the task of helping us say goodbye in Win Column-welcoming fashion.

Go Rangers!
