By August 20 last year, the Rangers were well out of playoff contention so the final few weeks of the season were devoted to development. After a 5-1 loss to the Angels in the first game of a doubleheader that day, Texas welcomed the debut of Brock Burke in the nightcap.

The fruits of the Jurickson Profar trade Burke went out and pitched a gem and if you ignore the fact that Burke went on to need Tommy John surgery this offseason, because the Rangers are cursed, this was an intriguing game with an eye toward the future.

Go Rangers!
