There’s no physical baseball right now but that isn’t stopping MLB from giving us as close to the real thing as we can get right now as one player from each team will be streaming themselves competing on the video game MLB The Show in a tournament called the Players League.
Live actual competition! Looks like sports are back on the menu, boys!
Joey Gallo has been selected to pilot the Texas Rangers in this league which gets underway at 8:00 pm. Gallo will try to lead the digital Rangers to victory against Trevor May (MIN), Lance McCullers Jr. (HOU), Blake Snell (TB), and Amir Garrett (CIN) tonight in games lasting three innings apiece.
According to MLB dot com:
Over the next few weeks, the league will be livestreamed on MLB social media accounts (Twitter, Facebook, YouTube, Twitch), MLB Network’s Twitch site, “MLB The Show” social media (Twitter, Facebook, YouTube, Twitch), the clubs’ social media accounts and MLB.com. Each player will also stream it from their individual Twitch or YouTube accounts.
Go Fightin’ Gallos!
