Believe it or not, despite starting his inaugural MLB The Show Players League career 10-0, Joey Gallo, for the first time in his gaming career, looks up to another player in the standings.
While Gallo got a few days off after his front-loaded schedule had him busy in the league’s infancy, Blake Snell rattled off wins upon wins to overtake Gallo for first place, despite Gallo clowning on Snell 11-2 in the league’s Opening Day.
Gallo is still within striking distance, of course. He’s actually tied with Snell in the loss column with four losses apiece. Tonight Gallo has a chance to overtake his main digital rival with four games on the docket.
Tonight and tomorrow will conclude the regular season for the new league and Gallo’s magic number to clinch a playoff spot is set at 1. Any Gallo victory this evening will secure his place in the postseason.
