2020 MLB Draft: Keith Law’s final mock draft is out this morning, and in it he projects the Texas Rangers to go the college hitter route, mocking them to take North Carolina first baseman Aaron Sabato.

We wrote up Aaron Sabato yesterday — he’s a draft-eligible sophomore who is a bat-only guy, being limited to first base defensively and having below average speed. Sabato has raked in college, however, and has big time power, draws walks, and gets good marks for his hit tool. Baseball America also has Sabato to the Rangers in their final mock draft.

Sabato wasn’t really on our radars as a potential Ranger pick until very recently, but he is said to have moved up boards of late, and he’s a potential middle-of-the-order impact bat. Sabato turned 21 a week ago, so he’s relatively young for a college draft pick, and one would think that he’s a candidate for a below-slot deal.
