Good morning, LSB.

Well the big Rangers news from yesterday was the naming of their Opening Day starter in Lance Lynn. Evan Grant writes that Rangers’ manager Chris Woodward had been ready to announce Lynn as the opener back in March right before everything shut down, but he made the announcement official yesterday.

Jeff Wilson has more quotes from Woodward, who says he went back and forth between Lynn and Mike Minor on who would take the bump to kick off the season.

Elsewhere, TR Sullivan talked to Rangers’ communications boss Jon Blake, who says that presently the team is planning on operating under the 50% capacity guidelines as given by the state of Texas.

Grant writes that MLB is requesting that the Rangers hold their horses when it comes to selling tickets and that maybe we should all just take a five.

At The Athletic, Jamey Newberg pulls back the curtain a bit more on the Rangers’ 2020 draft picks.

Behind the DMN paywall, Kevin Sherrington has a rundown of the vast new set of Covid-related guidelines players will be subject to during the shortened season, according to a hundred-page operations manual given to teams by the MLB.

Wilson has more on that giant operations manual, and on what would happen in the event that a player tests positive.

Wilson also has a Q&A pertaining to the upcoming season.

The Athletic ranks the MLB’s mascots. Captain is ranked appropriately.

Have a good day, and wear a mask!
