MLB: Texas Rangers-Workouts Tim Heitman-USA TODAY Sports

Good morning, LSB.

News dropped last night that pitchers Jonathan Hernandez, Nick Goody, and Luke Farrell have all made the Opening Day roster. Evan Grant writes that Hernandez and his heat could be leaned upon heavily in the early going of the season.

TR Sullivan wrote a bit about Hernandez’s growing role in the bullpen as well.

Sullivan also has notes from yesterday’s intersquad game, where the Rangers gave a little nod to the 100th anniversary of the Negro Leagues.

Levi Weaver has more on the scorching Isiah Kiner-Falefa.

Jeff Wilson has a list of guys who might be seeing more playing time to start the season after several guys have gotten banged up over the past week.

Chris Woodward made an appearance on The Fan and talked about Danny Santana and the starting rotation. Thought we were teetering on adding to the Chris Woodward Elite list but not so much.

Behind the DMN paywall, Sam Blum revisits one of the best moments in Rangers history in the Bengie Molina cycle, which happened 10 years ago yesterday (I’d forgotten he did it against the Adrian Beltre Red Sox).

Fangraphs has a list of prospects from the player pools of the AL West.

That’s all for today. I won’t be doing the links tomorrow as I’m due for an early-morning root canal, which is something I always greatly feared but after a month of worsening tooth pain I really can’t friggin’ wait for it. I’ll see yall again on Sunday. Be well.
