MLB: JUL 05 Rangers Summer Camp

Good morning.

It feels like Kyle Gibson signed with the Rangers 267 years ago but all memory of Kyle Gibson has since been erased. Anyhow, Gibson pitched in a simulated game yesterday and T.R. Sullivan has an account.

Jeff Wilson writes that the first weekend of Summer Camp shows that positive COVID-19 tests aren’t the only pandemic-related issue that teams are facing.

To that point, Sam Blum of the DMN writes about how Joey Gallo and Ronald Guzman still haven’t cleared the intake process yet and the Rangers aren’t exactly forthcoming on why.

Sullivan has notes on Gallo and Guzman‘s testing delays and also Todd Frazier being polite about the fake grass at The Shed.

The writers at The Athletic give a rundown on the prospects that were added to 60-man rosters for each team with Alex Speas, Sherten Apostel, and Josh Jung getting a shoutout for Texas.

Thomas Harrigan of MLB dot com lists the Rangers as candidates to go from below .500 to the playoffs.

And, finally, The Athletic writes offer up one book recommendation for each team with Levi Weaver selecting the genuinely entertaining read Seasons in Hell.

Be well!
