10-12 - Rangers comeback bid falls short in 6-4 loss to Padres

Maybe next time

Mike Minor still seems broken.

The Padres put an exclamation mark on the grand slam controversy from last night by hitting another one six batters into today’s game.

Texas rallied back from down 6-0 but the rally wasn’t rallyful enough to overcome the deficit and the Rangers were swept in the Shed half of this home and home series with San Diego.

The difference, ultimately? A two-run Jurickson Profar home run.

Player of the Game: Joey Gallo hit a three-run dong to provide some hope. It was the first home run for the Rangers at The Shed in their last six games there.

I figure there weren’t very many, if any, times that the Rangers went five+ games without hitting a home run at The Ballpark but I’m not going to waste any more of my time today on the Rangers to research that factoid.

Up Next: The Rangers and Padres fly out to San Diego to continue this series tomorrow night with Lance Lynn next up for Texas opposite RHP Chris Paddack for the Fathers. First pitch from Petco Park is scheduled for 8:10 pm CT.
