10-14 - Rangers slammed in series sweep by Padres

Just call the Rangers “Denny’s” at this point

How are things going for the Texas Rangers? Well, they were just swept by the San Diego Padres technically twice in a row but in reality over four games in both Texas and in California spanning the last four days with the Padres hitting a grand slam in every game.

That’s an MLB record, by the way.

Meanwhile, the Rangers have been embarrassing themselves nationally otherwise.

Eventually Texas did come back and then the two squads went back and forth tying things for a pretty entertaining baseball game until they found themselves in extra innings for the second consecutive night. For a second consecutive night, the Rangers lost in a manufactured ending, this time 8-7 in 10.

It’s been a grand ol’ time.

Player of the Game: Jose Trevino hit a two-run dong and then collected what was, at the time, the go-ahead RBI single in the eighth inning for his first career three RBI game. :3

Up Next: The Rangers do not play the Padres and will instead open up a series against the Mariners tomorrow night with Kolby Allard getting his turn against LHP Nick Margevicius for Seattle. First pitch from forever Safeco Field is scheduled for 8:10 pm CT.
