I will be 100% honest with you: I watched the Dallas Stars win their second round opener instead of this Rangers game so all I know is that Texas lost 10-1 and have lost seven in a row and are only 2.5 games out from having the worst record in baseball.
Go Stars!
Player of the Game: Jose Trevino had two more hits to raise his average to .367 on the season with a team-leading .416 wOBA, albeit in just ten games.
However, remember that Trevino is already considered a high caliber defender behind the plate. The question marks about his game stemmed from doubts about what he could do while standing at the plate with a bat in his hands.
If he continues to hit, Trevino’s development in this god awful season could end up being one of the major positives.
Up Next: The Rangers close out this series hoping to avoid the embarrassment of getting swept by the Mariners and losing an eighth straight game. Texas will turn to Mike Minor to make the start against LHP Justin Dunn for Seattle. Sunday’s first pitch from perpetually Safeco Field is scheduled for 3:10 pm CT.
