Scott Heineman up, Jose Trevino to I.L.

Texas Rangers transactions: Jose Trevino was placed on the injured list today, the Rangers announced. To take his place on the active roster, the Rangers recalled Scott Heineman.

Heineman was sent down three days ago to make room on the active roster for Sam Huff, who was called up to give the Rangers two healthy catchers while Trevino dealt with an injured wrist. Trevino isn’t healthy enough to play yet, and the Rangers have decided to put him on the injured list, so Heineman is now back.

Heineman’s callup could be brief, however. Willie Calhoun is expected to be activated from the injured list on Tuesday, and either Heineman or Sherten Apostel would appear to be the most likely candidates to be sent down to make room for Calhoun.
