The Texas Rangers scored three runs and the Arizona Diamondbacks scored seven runs.
That’s a wrap on away baseball for the Rangers in 2020. Blowing a three-run lead by allowing a six-run bottom of the sixth inning to rob Wes Benjamin of a victory in what was technically his first career start seems like a fitting way to go out on the road for this traveling circus.
Player of the Game: Even though Benjamin joined the rotation a couple of weeks ago, today was his actual first big league start as he had come in after an opener to pitch the majority of innings in his last two outings. Overall, Benjamin went five innings and allowed one run but a bullpen blow up after he left eased his chance at a win.
Also, Sam Huff hit a couple of doubles as he begins to settle in a little against big league pitching.
Up Next: The Rangers will begin their final home series of the 2020 season with Lance Lynn set to make his final start of the year against RHP Cristian Javier and the Houston Astros. First pitch in Thursday’s opener from The Shed is scheduled for 7:05 pm CT.
