Texas Rangers third baseman Sherten Apostel left tonight’s game after diving for a ground ball in the second inning. The Rangers have said it was due to back spasms.

Taking his place was Andrew Romine, who was signed to a minor league deal a little over a week ago, and who was added to the major league roster today, after Anderson Tejeda was scratched with a skin infection. With just three games remaining in the season after today, I’m not sure the Rangers would make a roster move again, but I suspect we may not see Apostel in action again the rest of the way.
