Kiley McDaniel has his rankings of the top 100 prospects in baseball up at ESPN, and the Texas Rangers placed a pair of players on the list.

Josh Jung, the third baseman out of Texas Tech who the Rangers selected with the #8 pick in the 2019 MLB Draft, comes in at #60 overall, with McDaniel noting that there are some indications that Jung is doing a better job tapping into his raw power as a professional, which was the main knock on him coming out of college.

The other player to make the list is Dane Dunning, the righthanded pitcher who the Rangers acquired from the Chicago White Sox in the Lance Lynn trade. McDaniel notes that there isn’t a ton of upside in Dunning, but there’s value in his likely ability to provide solid innings in the middle or back of a rotation.

Not appearing on the list are Sam Huff and Leody Taveras, the two other players who are, with Dunning and Jung, in the top tier of Rangers prospects, and who are the two other prospects who would generally be expected to be in the mix to be in the back part of a top 100 list.
