The Texas Rangers head out to Tempe, Arizona for their first action against a division mate of the spring. Welcoming them to Diablo Stadium will be the Fighting Mike Trouts from Anaheim.
Plans from earlier in the week stated that righty Jonathan Hernandez would be the starter for today’s game but plans change so now it looks like RHP Jimmy Herget will open the game for the Rangers whereas the Angels will counter with RHP Dylan Bundy.
Hans Crouse is also expected to be among the pitchers who are scheduled to toss an inning for the Rangers today but, then again, Cole Winn was listed as a pitcher who was expected to go yesterday but he didn’t make it into the game. The best of all worlds would be if Crouse and Winn see some action on television today.
A lineup:
Tues. vs. LAA at Tempe: Taveras 8, Dahl DH, Lowe 3, Odor 4, Guzman 7, Heim 2, Walker 9, Ibanez 5, Culberson 6, Herget 1
— John Blake (@RangerBlake) March 3, 2021
Blake followed with an update stating that Odor will play third base while Ibanez will start at second base.
You can follow along on Gameday or watch the game for the first time this spring on Fox Sports Southwest (warning: Angels telecast). First pitch is scheduled for 2:10 pm CT.
Go Rangers!
