The Texas Rangers 2021 Opening Day roster has been finalized, and there are no last minute surprises or additions from outside the organization. Everyone previously announced has having made the team has made the team, and the 26th roster spot — the one that was unknown — has gone to Kolby Allard.
The procedural moves today are as follows:
Kolby Allard has been recalled from AAA Round Rock (he had previously been optioned)
Ian Kennedy and Brock Holt have had their contracts purchased, adding them to the 40 man roster. (UPDATE — John Blake tweeted Holt and Kennedy, but I believe he meant Matt Bush and Charlie Culberson)
Rougned Odor has been designated for assignment, removing him from the active and 40 man roster
Demarcus Evans, Brock Burke, Brett Martin, Joely Rodriguez, Sam Huff, Willie Calhoun and Khris Davis have been placed on the 10 day injured list retroactive to March 29, 2021.
The 40 man roster is full.
