Dane Dunning will see some familiar faces as the Rangers play in the South Side this week. He debuted with the White Sox last season so this will obviously be his first time facing this Chicago team. At Guaranteed Rate Field, Dunning has a 3.72 ERA and 0.93 WHIP, of course that’s just a small sample size as he only pitched four games there in 2020.
RHP Dylan Cease will make the start for Chicago tonight. This will be his fourth start of the season for Cease. He’s gone 4.2 innings in all three of his previous starts. He has a 3.86 ERA and 1.71 WHIP. This will be his second time faced the Rangers, he faced them last in his debut season, 2019, and he gave up three runs on fours hits and a walk and struck out nine in a game the White Sox won.
Kyle Gibson will make the start on Saturday for Texas, in his career 17 starts against the White Sox he has a 2.98 ERA and 1.10 WHIP in 111.2 innings.
Kohei Arihara will wrap up the weekend by taking the mound Sunday afternoon in his first start against the White Sox.
The White Sox don’t currently have starters listed for Saturday or Sunday.
