MLB Trade Rumors: The Atlanta Braves have acquired infielder Orlando Arcia from the Milwaukee Brewers, per multiple reports. No specific word on who the Brewers are getting in return, though Jon Heyman says it is “two pitchers.”

Arcia, 26, has been rumored to be on the trade block for quite some time. He appeared to be a longterm answer in the infield for Milwaukee after slashing .277/.324/.407 in his first full season in the majors, putting up a 2.3 bWAR as the team’s everyday shortstop, but has not been able to match that level of performance since. From 2018-20 Arcia put up an aggregate 0.0 bWAR, and he is 1 for 11 in four games so far this season for Milwaukee.

Arcia is expected to provide bench depth for the Braves for the time being. He has one year of team control remaining after the 2021 season, so the Brewers have the option of bringing him back in 2022 if they would like.
