Texas Rangers transactions: Matt Bush and Brock Holt have been placed on the 10 day injured list, the team announced today. To replace the pair on the active roster the team has activated Brett Martin from the injured list and recalled Anderson Tejeda.
Holt is on the injured list with a right hamstring strain suffered on Tuesday. Tejeda, like Holt, is a left handed hitter, so he will presumably platoon with the righthanded hitting Charlie Culberson for the time being. I have not seen anything to indicate how long Holt will be out.
UPDATE — Tejeda is a switch hitter now, which I forgot because I’m old. His natural side is his lefty side though. And apparently Holt isn’t expected to miss much more, if any more, than the minimum.
Martin was expected to be activated around now, so his return isn’t a surprise, but he was expected to replace Kolby Allard or John King. Instead, Bush goes on the injured list with elbow inflammation. He’s returning from his second Tommy John surgery and pitched on both Tuesday and Wednesday. We shall have to wait and see what his prognosis is.
