Monday Morning Texas Rangers Update

A week without wins

MLB: Texas Rangers at Houston Astros Thomas Shea-USA TODAY Sports

Good morning.

Jeff Wilson notes that the Texas Rangers concluded their worst road trip since 1991 with a 6-2 loss to the Houston Astros on Sunday.

Sam Blum writes that a week after everyone was feeling good about the team climbing back to .500, they were kicked back down with six consecutive losses.

Kennedi Landry writes that after getting swept in Houston, the Rangers return home but things won’t get any easier as they face a surging New York Yankees squad and then Houston once again.

With the losing binge, the Rangers have dropped to the sixth worst record in baseball currently. After finishing in the cellar in the AL last season, Texas will pick No. 2 in the MLB Draft this summer. With that in mind, Evan Grant went to Mississippi to watch top amatuer prospects Kumar Rocker and Jack Leiter pitch for Vanderbilt and so did Texas.

MLB dot com comes up with a pleasant surprise for each team thus far and though Isiah Kiner-Falefa is listed for Texas, I don’t think he’s a surprise to Rangers fans anymore.

Have a nice day!
