A full slate of games today...

The most exciting news for most of us from the minor league games tonight is that Hans Crouse made his 2021 debut for Frisco. Crouse pitched a single inning (and was slated for a single inning, so don’t fret about that) and retired all three batters he faced — K-pop up-ground out. The box score shows he threw 8 strikes in 11 pitches, but one of those pitches was an automatic ball because he didn’t throw in time, so he really needed just 10 pitches in the inning.

Jake Latz followed Crouse and went 4.2 scoreless, striking out 6, walking one and allowing two hits. A.J. Alexy struck out two in two scoreless innings, and Cole Uvila struck out one in a scoreless inning. Dio Arias got the teams only hit.

For Round Rock, Joe Palumbo went 2 IP. He gave up a home run to start the game then allowed just a walk, striking out one. Jason Bahr followed Palumbo and also allowed a single hit — a home run — in 2 IP, striking out 4. Joe Barlow had a scoreless inning.

Offensively, Curtis Terry went 2 for 4 with a homer, Eli White had two hits, and Jason Martin homered.

Evan Carter hit his first home run of the year for Down East, and also drew a walk. Dustin Harris and Keyber Rodriguez each had two hits, and Keithron Moss and Jose Rodriguez each had a hit.

For Hickory, Justin Slaten allowed 2 runs on 5 hits in 3 IP, with 3 Ks. Justin Foscue drew a pair of walks. Chris Seise and Jonathan Ornelas were each 0 for 4.
