Hickory had a rather remarkable tandem starter dual outing today. Grant Wolfram started and went 4 shutout innings, allowing 2 hits and 2 walks, striking out 6. Zak Kent followed him and threw 4 shutout innings, allowing one hit, one walk and one batter to reach on an error, and struck out 10 batters. Yes, 10 batters in just 4 IP. Coming into tonight he had thrown 6.2 IP over 2 outings with 5 hits, 1 walk and 5 Ks. He was a 9th round pick out of VMI in 2019, signed for $140K. Maybe I should keep an eye on him.
The Crawdads had just three hits today. Frainyer Chavez had a triple. Jonathan Ornelas had a single.
