Texas Rangers lineup for May 22, 2021 against the Houston Astros: starting pitchers are Jordan Lyles for the Rangers and Lance McCullers, Jr., for the Astros.
The Rangers will try this afternoon to follow up yesterday’s thrilling walk-off victory against the Houston Astros, and will be sending Jordan Lyles to the mound to face his former team. Interestingly, Texas is sitting lefties Brock Holt and David Dahl and starting righthanded hitters Charlie Culberson and Khris Davis, even though McCullers is a righthander. McCullers has had, however, virtually identical platoon splits this year (.152/.291/.272 v righties, .200/.282/.286 against lefties), though historically he’s had fairly normal splits.
The lineup:
Calhoun — LF
Solak — 2B
Lowe — 1B
Garcia — CF
Gallo — RF
Davis — DH
IKF — SS
The Culb — 3B
Trevino — C
3:05 p.m. Central start time. Oh, hey, I guess with a roof you can have day games on Saturdays and not worry about deep-frying your fans.
