Frisco starter Jake Latz had a stellar outing, throwing five shutout innings, allowing 1 hits and 2 walks while striking out 8. In his last three outings he has gone 14.2 IP without allowing a run, striking out 20, walking 4 and allowing 4 hits. Fernery Ozuna had a shutout inning of work. Joe Gatto struck out 3 and allowed 3 hits in 2 IP. Cole Uvila struck out 2 in an inning of work.
Bubba Thompson had a hit and two walks, and J.P. Martinez had a hit.
Hickory had Justin Slaten start, and he allowed 1 run on 2 hits in 4 IP, with 5 Ks. Kellen Strahm and Jake Guenther each had two hits, David Garcia had a hit, and Jonathan Ornelas and Frainyer Chavez each had a hit and two walks.
Down East fell 2-0, only picking up three hits. One of those was a triple from Evan Carter, who also walked twice and stole a base. Cody Freeman and Antonio Cabello picked up the other two hits.

UPDATE — The Express lost 4-2 to Tacoma. Ryder Ryan gave up a pair of runs in 1.1 IP on 1 hit, 3 walks and 1 K. Jake Lemoine had a scoreless inning of work. Luis Ortiz went 0.2 IP with 2 walks, a hit, and a K.
Eli White and Jason Martin each homered. Anderson Tejeda and Andy Ibanez each got a hit, Leody Taveras had a double and a walk, and Curtis Terry had a single and a walk.
