Minor League update for 5/7/21

Cole Winn, Jason Bahr and T.K. Roby all make their season debuts

MLB: MAY 07 Mariners at Rangers

You want the rundown of tonight’s minor league performances? We got it for you...

T.K. Roby, the Rangers third round pick in 2020, made his pro debut tonight for low-A Down East. Roby went 2.1 IP and struck out 3 while not allowing a hit. He did walk one and hit a batter, though, and threw a pair of wild pitches. Still, an impressive debut for the 19 year old righthander.

In our Evan Carter Watch, we note that Carter went 1 for 5 with a double and three Ks. Luisangel Acuna had a single and a homer, and Keyber Rodriguez and Keithron Moss each had two hits.

For Hickory, I apparently jinxed Daniel Robert, since he allowed 2 runs in 1.1 IP, striking out one and allowing a two run home run. Justin Foscue, Kole Enright and Jake Guenther all homered.

Cole Winn went 4.2 IP in his AA debut for Frisco, allowing 4 runs on 4 hits, including a home run, while walking one, hitting a batter and striking out 6. Scott Engler gave up a run in 2 innings of work, striking out one. Cole Uvila allowed a run in the ninth despite not allowing a hit, due to a lead off walk, a balk, a ground out and a sac fly.

Sherten Apostel went 1 for 5 with 3 Ks. Davis Wendzel had a pair of hits.

Jason Bahr, making his AAA debut for Round Rock, also gave up 4 runs, though in 4.1 IP, giving up 4 hits, including a home run, walking 4 and striking out 3. He also hit a batter. Joe Barlow pitched to a pair of batters and retired them both.

The Express bats exploded, putting up 15 runs and knocking 5 home runs. Curtis Terry was a triple short of the cycle. Carl Chester and Jason Martin each had a single and a homer. Anderson Tejeda had a homer and two walks. Leody Taveras, unfortunately, was 0 for 5 with 3 Ks.
