The Texas Rangers scored three runs and the Los Angeles Dodgers scored five runs.
Thank goodness the road losing streak ended last night. The Rangers followed up their 12-run outburst against Trevor Bauer and the Dodgers by falling flat against Walker Buehler and the Dodgers for much of today’s finale before they finally made things interesting in the game’s final frame.
Dane Dunning didn’t have a great day (4 IP, 7 H, 4 ER, 2 BB, 5 K) on the mound for Texas but it was the Rangers’ bats that perhaps impeded the quest to come away with a series win against Los Angeles more as it took them until the ninth inning to finally put together a fruitful rally that ultimately came a little too late despite scoring three runs and loading the bases with no outs.
At least they made Los Angeles sweat a little, I guess.
Player of the Game: Jonah Heim followed up a career night last evening with two hits and a walk in today’s contest.
Up Next: The Rangers have Monday off before traveling to Houston to begin a two-game series against the Astros at Minute Maid Park beginning on Tuesday night.
