Minor league update for 6/17/21

A Frisco doubleheader as part of a full slate of games

Frisco played a pair today. Tyler Phillips pitched the opener, got three ground outs in the first, and the went homer-single-homer-homer in the second and got pulled. Blake Bass threw a scoreless inning. Josh Jung went one for three. Jax Biggers homered.

In Game Two, Yerry Rodriguez took the bump for the Roughriders. He went four shutout innings, allowing three hits and two walks, striking out seven. Hever Bueno struck out three in two scoreless innings, and Fernery Ozuna threw a scoreless seventh for the save. Sherten Apostel picked up a pair of doubles, and J.P. Martinez and Anderson Tejeda each had hits.

Hickory had Cody Bradford start. He allowed one run on one hit and one walk in 5.1 IP, striking out eight. Joe Corbett allowed one hit in 1.2 IP in his high-A debut. Hickory got three hits — a homer and a single by Scott Kapers, and a single by Frainyer Chavez — and no walks.

Down East saw new hotness Marc Church throw a scoreless inning, allowing one hit while striking out a batter. Luisangel Acuna had a triple, Antonio Cabello had a homer, and Obie Ricumstrict had a single and a double.

I will update with Round Rock when their game is over, but as of now there is little worth talking about from that game.

UPDATE — Round Rock lost. Andy Ibanez had a hit. Yonny Hernandez was one for two with a walk. Ryder Ryan threw 1.1 scoreless innings. Jimmy Herget had a scoreless inning.
