The Texas Rangers scored five runs and the Minnesota Twins scored seven runs in ten innings.
The Rangers trailed 3-0 after a half inning into this baseball game tonight but they put up a valiant effort in a comeback attempt against the Twins. In fact, Texas came back twice as once they evened the game at three runs apiece in the bottom of the fourth, Minnesota scored another go-ahead run in top of the fifth.
The Rangers tied the score again a couple of innings later but they eventually succumbed to a Rob Manfred-approved manufactured extra innings loss as the final comeback effort stalled out.
Player of the Game: On the same day that El Bombi mentioned that he would be open to participating in the Home Run Derby, he broke his 17-game dinger-less drought with a solo shot that tied tonight’s contest in the bottom of the seventh.
The dong was Garcia’s 17th of the season.
Up Next: The Rangers and Twins play the second game of this series with LHP Kolby Allard next in line to start for Texas against RHP Randy Dobnak for Minnesota. Saturday’s first pitch from The Shed is scheduled for 3:05 pm CT.
