Pitching-wise, Teodoro Ortega made his second appearance of the year. He struck out five of the nine batters he faced, allowing one hit and no runs in 2.2 IP.
Now for the bats. Luisangel Acuna had a homer and a walk. Dustin Harris had two walks and a hit. Antonio Cabello had two doubles and a walk. Keyber Rodriguez had two doubles and a single. Obie Ricumstrict had two singles and a homer.
Alejandro Osuna, the 18 year old brother of Roberto Osuna who the Rangers signed in October, appeared in just his third game of the season and had three doubles and a single.
Zak Kent started for Hickory and rebounded from his bad outing last time out, throwing five shutout innings, striking out eight.
Frainyer Chavez and Jake Guenther each had a single and a double. Kellen Strahm had two hits. David Garcia had a single and a walk. Jonathan Ornelas had three walks.
Jake Latz got the start for Frisco and had a rare rough outing, allowing four runs in 3.1 IP on seven hits and three walks, striking out three. Ty Thomas gave up two runs in 1.2 IP, striking out three. Nick Snyder struck out one and allowed a homer in two innings of work in his AA debut.
Sherten Apostel continued his recent hot streak with a double and a pair of homers, the second one a two out go-ahead two run bomb in the ninth. Steele Walker had a two RBI single right before the second Apostel home run to bring Apostel to the plate.
Bubba Thompson and Josh Stowers each had a single and a walk.
Frisco is in the 10th tied at 8 but I’m tired so I’m hitting publish now.
UPDATE: Frisco won. Jordan Procyshen, who is a catcher, pitched two shutout innings for the win.
Jacob Lemoine started for Round Rock in a bullpen game and gave up two runs in two innings of work. Scott Engler made his AAA debut and allowed three runs, including a home run, in 1.1 IP. Joe Barlow fanned two in two scoreless innings of work.
Curtis Terry had a double, a triple and a homer. Oh, and he also had a single. I think there’s a name for doing that.
Carl Chester had two triples. Andy Ibanez had two singles, a walk and a homer. Leody Taveras had a single and a walk.
