2021 MLB Mock Draft: Keith Law has his latest mock draft out, and he has the Texas Rangers taking Dallas Jesuit shortstop Jordan Lawlar with the #2 pick in the draft.

Lawlar has been one of the names frequently linked with the Rangers, although Jim Callis’s most recent mock draft said that the Rangers are seen as having Lawlar on the “back burner,” with Kahlil Watson, Marcelo Mayer and Callis’s pick for the Rangers at #2, Jack Leiter, seen as the team’s primary focus.

We are two and a half weeks away from the draft and, as always, there is a lot that is still up in the air this far out. There does seem to be a consensus that Mayer is currently the closest thing there is to a consensus top guy in this draft, though he’s part of a tier of several players who are at the top more than a clear cut #1. There also seems to be a belief that Jack Leiter is going to Boston at #4 if he isn’t already off the board. Beyond that...well, things are hazy.
